We met Paul & Michael of Cafe Art UK back in 2013 and it was love at first sight, literally!
These amazing guys founded Cafe Art UK to promote the artwork created by people affected by homelessness or who are socially vulnerable.
They do this by exhibiting their artwork in cafes around London and, since 2014, by celebrating unexpected creative perspectives of London through their amazing My London photographic calendar, (following a photography contest supported by The Royal Photographic Society).
So much in common…
When we started Orzo♥Coffee we really wanted to make sure our work made a difference to the community and people's life. For this reason we have been supporting initiatives like Cafe Art UK where people - not “issues” - are at the center of the change.
Good news, this year we decided to commit our 2016 profits by becoming the first confirmed sponsor of the 2017 My London Calendar. By confirming our commitment earlier in the year, we can make sure Cafe Art UK can raise enough resources to involve an increasing number of artists and volunteers.
Better news, we know our small orzo community has a huge creative heart, so if you want to get to know Cafe Art UK , make sure you visit their galleries across London cafès.
Even better news, since all of this is possible because of YOU Orzolovers, during the month of March, when you place an order on our website, you can add to your basket for FREE a copy of the 2016 My London Calendar*. Yup, can finally fill that hungry wall in your office or home, with art and love, the perfect combination. The calendar works perfectly also as icebreaker with shy colleagues and arts connoisseurs, and for overall gossiping.
This year we decided to change our certification body and after a lot of paperwork, we can now say proudly that we are certified by the Soil Association.
We love to know that our certification goes towards helping their great campaigns and activities to bring organic, healthy and sustainable food to our tables
in this blog you will find some curiosities, updates and events ...so treat yourself to a lovely cup of Orzo & enjoy the reading!
