Orzo★Coffee awarded a GOLD star at the GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2013

Yes in this blog post our usual Orzo♥Coffee has become Orzo★Coffee! that's because we have been awarded a GOLD star at this year Great Taste Awards! 

Entering the award was quite a challenge for us, as we do not want to be judged against coffee (as we are not coffee) but we cannot even be considered a tea. So we entered the category "Any other hot drink inc. chocolate" which was definitely a very tough one (being compared to hot chocolate is quite tough as everyone loves hot chocolate). 
In this category there were no three stars winner and naturally a hot chocolate won two stars ;-) but we are so pleased to simply be recognised with one star for the flavour and taste of our organic orzo.
The Great Taste Awards is the world’s largest and most rigorous food awards scheme involving over 400 judges and thousands of hours of blind tasting!

Very pleasant robust and dark, coffee-like appearance. Very well rounded barley flavour, not too bitter with a nice finish - good with milk. Great for people who like a coffee-style drink with no caffeine

Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe we are the ONLY coffee alternative to have been awarded a GOLD star by the Great Taste Award which make us even more special & unique ;-)
